Interview with Dave Adrian conducted by Bahama Kin (26 Mar 2004)

Bahamakin69: Hello Dave Adrian good morning
dave adrian: The same to you , BAHAMA KIN
Bahamakin69: Spring is approaching, and many great things seem to be happining for you
Bahamakin69: Whats the Dave Adrian update
dave adrian: It seems to be going that way . Many updates :
First , still waiting for Sean Laskey and his video film project . He is busy converting the second part of the film from PAL to American standard , and editing his whole film . dave adrian: Then , working on projects with Tootie , " Sweetheart Records " in Bridgeport Connecticut . promotion , film ,
Bahamakin69: http://users.erols.com/tootie1/new_page_1.htm
dave adrian: and more . So you see , I am not so far as some might think in the future . And over here , busy with songwriting for a major record label and a new singer , this is top at national level over here . It could be a big thing if it comes of age .
dave adrian: Also , waiting for the release of my book with Publish America , later this year .
dave adrian: And busy with " Synthec " , a corporation dvd project on evolution of Steinberg and Cubase programs . This deals with a Belgian company , with the mother corporate in London , England . I might do the voice track , we are negotiating . This would involve another video .
dave adrian: And planning gigs with a potential new manager , Hans Bostijn . ( for live work )
dave adrian: So very busy , with more ; I have recently turned down a offer fro collaboration on a duo songwriting with many bucks behind it , and I mean big money . This is important for your listeners and readers ; no matter how hard things might be , and believe me , they are sometimes , my music creativity is not for sale AT ANY COST . That's the whole thing about what I do , and I am sure many of you will recognize themself in this statement .
Bahamakin69: Very well said
Bahamakin69: Dave your headed in a great direction, Would your fans be able to buy your finished projects on your site?
dave adrian: Yes , at this stage my cd titled " ragged redemption " is for sale on the CD Baby link on my home page . But my next step is a full cd with appx. 13 songs , that is fully written and premixed . This has to be finalized , or in Belgium , or with Tootie later in Connecticut . I also
have many more songs ready to be mixed down , this will all be on the site for sale later , of course .
Bahamakin69: excellent. Do you have plans to expand your distribution at other locations and webpages , other than your site?
dave adrian: That is already more or less done . I have other independent distributors on my " links " icon , and with
Bahamakin69: http://clix.to/daveadrian
the Cosmic store and others . I have recently done a check on all the contacts I have made , and it is quite awesome , ( check " Google " ) . But I am know trying to be more selective and target on certain sites and webpages that I really feel I have a good contact with . Such as CD Baby , and of
dave adrian: course the sites of BAHAMA KIN .
Bahamakin69: What Should your Fans know about your new connection to:
I Synthesist http://www.isynthesist.net/ Manhattan NYC whom I totally enjoy their music.
dave adrian: I met I Synthesist through BAHAMA KIN . ( read this out
dave adrian: there ) . I have a cd of his I received through the post . It is plain awesome ! A special artist , that moves into synth directions with FEEL , a rare thing . We exchange on a regular basis ; he asked me for a distribution , deal , gigs over here . Why ? The same happened with Danny
Bahamakin69: Rockett?
dave adrian: Rockett , that came over here recently on tour ... They more or less had the same explanation about things NYC is another world form mainland America .
Bahamakin69: Yes it is Dave
dave adrian: There are just sooo many bands trying for too little gigs . As opposed to here , where there are lesser bands of US quality , ( my opinion ) , and maybe more gigs .
dave adrian: But I restrict a bit this statement . It is also plain hard over here , due to languages difference for example , and formally the lack of drive and reaction to rock music of quality . A mixture of cultures , sometimes lost into hype universal music of all types , that do not relate to
main US rock music , where I locate myself .
Bahamakin69: Two Sense Productions FULCRUM
http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/FULCRUM/
http://www.soundclick.com/beatphreaker you must check this band out too. they are great friends with I synthesist.
Bahamakin69: I believe in What they are doing with their music. and support them all the way.
dave adrian: That will be done ! You know as me BK , it just does it on you with music , and these guys do it .
Bahamakin69: HEAD WRENCH also blows my mind, working with them, http://www.head-wrench.com/ also The Legendary JIMI BELL http://www.jimibell.com/ soon to start art work ect for Jimi's old band JOINED FORCES
Bahamakin69: By the way Head Wrench said hello Dave Adrian
dave adrian: I have visited both sites in detail ; indeed two great creative forces on the move .
Thanks to Head Wrench , hi you guys ! ( I will reopen a " guestbook " soon . We had to close it for a while due to ....
Bahamakin69: blue meanies?
dave adrian: due to the crazy controversial TV national program that
dave adrian: was "reedited " as to discredit me and my wife . But that is over now . It was plain awesome , great messages
from bands and artists from everywhere , and insults from a local group of people .
Bahamakin69: How have you and your Awesome Artwork been going , you have a great talent in Art as i can clearly see
dave adrian: I have another man interested in Belgium in this . Claude he has a brother or two that have an Art Gallery in Detroit Michigan . Also trying to help me with big gigs over here .
dave adrian: But there you see the hinges : all political contacts .
Bahamakin69: Do you do CD covers as well, Posters?
dave adrian: All of the artwork , indeed . and posters .
Bahamakin69: http://clix.to/daveadrian folks take a look at Daves artwork http://clix.to/daveadrian
dave adrian: And for others , Rock posters in Germany , etc...
Bahamakin69: I have seen some festival work you have done. very very great works of Art Dave Adrian
dave adrian: Also hope that Dominic Gaudious can get his video project on the road . Another big project , national US .
dave adrian: http://www.dominicgaudious.com
dave adrian: check his name on " Google " , maybe mist something .
dave adrian: he is there .
Bahamakin69: ok, hey thanks for the link, i'll scope it out and support Dominic Gaudious .
it's all in us all working together for the music and respect of Musicians worldwide. thats my mission, besides my own albums, club, band & Writing projects
dave adrian: BAHAMA KIN , you are awesome as a great communication man , and also as an artist . Let it be heard .
Bahamakin69: From your perspective: what should Promoters and Bands do to better their cause, and what is it that causes bands to break up?
dave adrian: Big question ! Fist of all , PERSIST ! That is the main point . If you believe in your music , just quietly do your
dave adrian: thing , plug it , do it , keep calm against all odds , drugs , jealousy , indifference , bad managers , ( if any ) , and the rest that everyone knows .
Bahamakin69: CMO1 keeps a sweet list of protective links on avoiding The Downfalls, Protecting yourself with copyrights, ect.
dave adrian: Too UNITE , without pride or prejudice between one another . Through , for instance BAHAMA KIN ! That is
dave adrian: where he is SO IMPORTANT ! HE IS THERE TO HELP , Bahamakin69: How is Patsy & your Children doing? Tell them Bahama
Kin Said Hello
dave adrian: I will do that right right now with Patsy . She sends her regards . She is ashamed she is Belgian , she says to you .
Bahamakin69: I respect Patsy very Much. I'm her fan Dave. and your children are Beautiful tell them also that Bahama kin said Whats up Batman and Robin
dave adrian: Sure will do ; we are now into Spiderman and Powerangers .
Bahamakin69: My youngest son Douglas Lennon MacKinnon is recording his first CD. he will send a copy to your boys when completed. Dou plays Keyboards- writes lyrics sings.
Bahamakin69: lol ok... Acoustic Guitar I love that Earthy Sound. What your favorite acoustic guitar these days
dave adrian: Another tricky question . I have had sooo many , and great ones . Martin is still the best , I reckon , the D series , powerfull in all respect , have to match that with the voice . I also use a Canadian Simon & Patrick , great sound , much lighter , sometimes favour that . It is
very important how it affects the projection and intonation . Gibson have a lot more bassier , deeper tone . Hummingbird , is nice . I have had almost every model .
Bahamakin69: cool
dave adrian: But the great classics of the past are just out of reach . Martin , Gibsons , Epiphone ... Some of them are just unreal , they do the singing for you , due to the richness of the overtones . I have played a few in the sixties , they were already incredible .
Bahamakin69: I recently contacted Emma Goldberg, Awesome! I'd love everyone to check out her music, FRENCH, but some is in English. is'nt she just great Dave
dave adrian: Not to forget Lee Oscar mouthharp , the mouthharp US .
dave adrian: Emma : just a great talented French singer songwriter . As you know , we help one another ; I have put her onto
dave adrian: you and all my other contacts ; ArtistFirst , Scott Z , radio Mike
Bahamakin69: http://emmagoldberg.fr.st/
Bahamakin69: yes great.
dave adrian: Radio Mike , Kweevak , they all play here and like her .
Bahamakin69: I can see why . Kweevak http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/daveadrian/from/kweevakbaby this one is you.
dave adrian: a compliment to her talent , I am happy for her .
Bahamakin69: me too dave
dave adrian: BK , must go now , mundanities .
